Greenville School District...
Greenville
Schools releases a statement from TJ Powers
“I will be leaving Greenville City Schools in June 2012 to become the
Head Football Coach and HS Social Studies Teacher at Arcanum Butler
High School.
This was an extremely tough decision to look to leave my hometown
school and alma mater. I want what is best for the community of
Greenville, Greenville Schools, and Greenville Athletics. I have
coached football for Greenville for 11 years with the past 5 as Head
Coach.
Also, I have served as the Athletic Director the past 2 years.
The support staff in the Athletic Department is top notch. During my
time at Greenville I have had nothing but respect and admiration for
the administration, especially the current administration.
They have worked tirelessly to make Greenville Schools successful.
I am very proud of the 2010-2011 Excellent rating for Greenville City
Schools from the Ohio Department of Education. That rating
is in direct correlation to hard working teachers and administrators as
well as the students.
I have truly enjoyed my time in Greenvillle. The hardest thing to
deal with is leaving the players and the players’ families. There
has been a bond built that I will forever cherish and I have made many
lifelong friends. There are many times in your life when you have
to make tough decisions and do what is best for your family and
yourself.
I am excited about the opportunity and challenge at Arcanum as an
educator and football coach. It is a great school district and
community and I am thrilled to be a part of it.”
