Drivers fare well at the fair

GREENVILLE- Darke County/local drivers fared well in the Darke County
Tractor Puller annual event at the Darke County Fair Tuesday.
In the 4500 lb. antique class, Charlie Starkie won with a pull of
169.43 feet. Closer to home in the top 10, Rich Royer of New Madison
was fourth, Ron Hileman, Greenville (6th) and Tom Baker of Greenville
was ninth.
The 5500 lb. antiques saw Greenville's Tom Baker go 258.43 feet on his
hook while no one else locally placed in the top ten of the event.
Baker also took top honors in the 6500 lb antique class with a hook of
245.62 feet. Rusty Baker of Greenville finished fifth while Versailles
resident Russel Marchal was eighth.
The 7500 lb. antiques saw John Hurley of Lewistown, Ohio take first
with a pull of 229.55 feet. Rusty Baker was fifth and Marchal was
eighth.
In the 6200 lb. Street Alt. Gas 4x4 Trucks Mitch Loy won with a pull of
318.27 feet. No Darke County drivers were entered in the class.
The 8500 lb. Lite Pro Stock had Jeff Fussner first (311.07) while
locally, Tyler Overholser (G) was third, Justin Royer (NM) fifth and
Ethan Wasson (UCI) was sixth.
The hotrod division had Jeff Cook of Glenwood, Ind. winning with a pull
of 300.85 feet while Scott Royer of Greenville was ninth.
