Allison Hildebrand, a senior at Franklin Monroe is so determined to work her hardest to get
back to running this season. This should be a very successful senior year for the star runner.

Jet Track... Striving For Another Great Year

By Ashley Studebaker

With Track and Field season just around the corner, the Franklin Monroe Jets are wasting no time in getting prepared. Conditioning started on Feburary 8th, and the team is excited to get this season underway.

Allison Hildebrand, who has been one of Franklin Monroe’s top runners for a few years, talked about getting prepared and what people should expect to see from her and the rest of the team. Allison has recently had surgery on her foot and shin. She had a stress fracture and in order for her to run again she had to get surgery.

“I am going to try my best to run this season.,” she said about the healing process and her chances of being able to run. “I might not be back to running till the CCC, but I will do what I can when I can. My injury is getting much better. I think our track team is going to be awesome this year!”

Allison is starting therapy in about 5 weeks and she has been doing workouts to keep herself in as much shape as she can right now. This is going to help her when she returns to run.

There are many new faces that are joining track and they seem to show excitement and a willingness to work hard for the team. Some of the returning players to the track team are: Brittany Glover and Sydney Hartzell as runners, Jennifer Underwood and Allyson Manning for pole vaulting. Nick Bruner and Trevor Shelley are also going to be returning this year. Brittany Glover is Franklin Monroe’s star high-jumper and the school is excited to see what her senior year has in store for her. Records might be broken in this Track and Field season for the Jets.

Cassidy Nealeigh is one of the players who is going to be new to the track team this year. Being homeschooled all of her life this will be her first High School sport and she has as much enthusiasm about the season as some of the returning runners. Cassidy is ready to get out there and begin her first year of track.

Allison Hildebrand also said that she is ready to get out there and improve her time and get to her ultimate goal: State competition with her teammates.

The Jets team, coached by Rick Ingold, Kyle Wilt and Don Lucas, is looking forward a successful season.
