Regular season closes out for the boys

DARKE COUNTY- It’s that time of the winter sports season when the post
season begins and every athlete has visions of ‘The State Gold’ in
their heads.
Area swimmers will continue their run to state while the wrestlers,
bowlers and girls basketball teams will get tournament action started
this week.
Tonight, girls hoops will get underway in Tipp City as Versailles will
tangle with Northridge with a 6 p.m. tip-off while Arcanum and Miami
East will do battle afterwards.
Wednesday the Lady Wave will be in action at Xenia starting at 6 p.m.
against Kenton Ridge.
Boys bowling sectionals are Wednesday with the Greenville boys at
Woodman Lanes in Kettering while Ansonia, Mississinawa Valley and
Versailles are at Marian Lanes in Huber Heights.
The girls bowling sectionals will be start Friday as the Greenville
girls will bowl at Woodman Lanes in Kettering and the Ansonia,
Mississinawa Valley and Versailles girls at Marian Lanes in Huber
Heights.
The Greenville wrestling team will begin the sectional tournament at
Eaton with Arcanum and Versailles wrestling teams will begin sectionals
at Lehman Catholic Friday and Saturday.
The county boys basketball teams will be closing out the regular season
as well.
Franklin Monroe will play host to Ansonia Friday as Tri-Village also
will host Lehman Catholic Tuesday and close out at Mississinawa Valley.
The Versailles boys basketball team also will be at home Friday as it
plays host to New Knoxville with a 6:30 p.m. junior varsity start time
while Bradford will hit the road at Bethel… Greenville’s boys will be
at Vandalia Butler in a matchup that begins with the junior varsity
squads at 6 p.m. and Arcanum will travel to Covington.
Darke County’s gymnasts will compete in the Dayton City Championships
gymnastics meet at Miamisburg High School Saturday.
Tri-Village will host its powerlifting meet at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Mississinawa Valley’s girls basketball team will begin its tournament
action against Yellow Springs at 11 a.m. in Brookville Saturday.
Following that game, Ansonia’s girls basketball team will take on
Southeastern in the sectionals at 12:30 p.m. in Brookville. At 3:30
p.m., the Tri-Village girls basketball team will face Jefferson in
Brookville in sectional play.
Arcanum’s boys basketball team will travel to Preble Shawnee for a 6
p.m. junior varsity tipoff Saturday night. The Versailles boys
basketball team will travel to Parkway to face the Panthers;
Mississinawa Valley’s boys will host Fort Recovery. .
The Bradford powerlifting team is scheduled to compete at Triad Sunday.
