school year. With only two matches left before
sectionals, Greenville

Edwards shines for Wave
The Greenville Wrestling Team placed 11th overall and 3rd in the North
Division of the GWOC Tournament. Placing for the Wave were: Jon
Edwards-1st, Nick Woodruff-4th & Nelson Roberts-6th. Complete

Jon Edwards became the first League Champion for Greenville in 6 years
since Aaron Warner won an MML title in 2006. The Wave was Independent
from 2007-2010. Greenville had no GWOC Champ in 2011.
Jon Edwards is 1st in Career Wins with 156. He passes Evan Warner who
had 153 (07-10). Evan was 153-40. Jon is currently 156-34. Those 156
wins rank him 102nd on the OHSAA Record Board. Edwards is 2nd in Career
Takedowns with 521. He passes Evan Warner who had 517 (07-10). That
places him 49th on the OHSAA Record Board.
Edwards is 2nd in Career Near Falls with 225. He passes Chris Miller
who had 222 (07-10). Edwards also has 34 wins as a Senior. That ranks
him 15th for Greenville Senior Wins. He also has won 3 Sectional
Titles. If he can win it this year, he will be the 1st Greenville
Wrestler to win 4 Sectional Championships.
Greenville is currently 6-8 on the season. They have not had a losing
season in 35 years. They wrestle Troy & Piqua at Piqua on Friday.
