DARKE
COUNTY — As the National
Football League gets ready for its annual race to the Super Bowl, two
Darke
County ties are in also.
Greenville
native Matt Light, left
offensive tackle of the New England Patriots, will be watching from the
television in week one as the Patriots are the top seed in the AFC East
and
drew a first round bye.
Light
was the 17th overall pic by the
Patriots out of Purdue in 2001.
Shaun
Suisham of the Pittsburgh
Steelers moved to the Greenville area in 2010 with his parents. Born
Dec. 29,
1981 in Wallceburg, Ont., Suisham is a graduate of Bowling Green but
was never
drafted as a kicker.
The
Steelers will be taking on the
Denver Broncos at 4:30 Sunday.
If
the Steelers and Bengals both win,
the Bengals would play the Patriots next week. If the Bengals lose to
Houston
on Saturday and the Steelers win, the Pittsburgh goes to New England.
If
both the Steelers and Bengals fall,
the the Broncos would head to New Endland.
The
playoffs begin at 4:30 p.m. when the
Bengals play at the Houston Texans in a game that will be televised on
NBC.
