Buckeyes squeak one out over Greenville All-Stars
Former Ohio State football players came to Greenville Saturday night to
do battle with the Greenville All-Stars in a charity basketball game.
In previous years the game was played against Cincinnati Bengal
players, but changed formats this year. Stanley Jackson, Andy Groom,
James Cotton, Dustin Fox, Ahmed Plummer and Andy Katzenmoyer
represented the Buckeyes who were able to hold on for the 88-85 win.
The real winners were the Greenville Citizens Baseball League and all
the young kids who play baseball in it.
The fundraiser allows the league to operate different leagues at many
levels throughout the summer.
Trailing by as much 20 in the first half, the local team gained a 60-60
tie in the third quarter.
Ohio State went on a 13-0 run to take a commanding 73-60 lead.
With less than a minute left, Ohio State led 88-78 but Greenville went
on a seven point run to close things to 88-85 by the end of the game.
