Wave senior Ashley Hanes has been the focus in the middle of the
diamond for Greenville
this season. Tuesday, Hanes helped her teams
cause at the plate, with a home run in the Greenville 8-7 victory
over
Shawnee. The home run came in the fifth, putting the Wave up=4-0 at

A-Lady Tiger season ends, Lady Patriots move on
NEW CARLISLE- When it comes to winning, Greenville coach Jerrod Newland
has been blessed. Blessed with players that know how to win.
Tuesday, the Lady Wave found the going rough but in the end, pulled off
what seemed to be the impossible.
Trailing 7-4, heading into the seventh, Greenville plated four runs to
beat Springfield Shawnee 8-7, giving Greenville its 10th consecutive
sectional crown.
With Kayla Harshbarger on, it was Erin Albright that got the party
started in the seventh with a home run, driving in two and getting the
Wave to within a 7-6 count.
With one down and the bases full of Wave, it was catcher Paige Wolter
that delivered the game winner. Wolter drilled a pitch to left, scoring
Meghan Hanes and Taylon French.
With the win, Greenville will play Friday for the district title at
West Carrolton. The Wave will battle Bellbrook at 5 p.m. in the D-II
game.
Also on Friday, the Versailles Lady Tigers will play Middletown-Fenwick
Friday at 5 p.m. at Tipp City for the right to move on to the D-III
regionals.

TIPP CITY- A very young Ansonia team bowed out of the OHSAA softball
tournament, losing to Covington Tuesday, 10-0.
The Buccs run-ruled the Tigers in six innings.
Also, Tri-Village will be moving on to district action.
The Patriots downed Newton 5-0 and will face Triad Saturday in the
title game at 1 p.m. at Brookville for the D-IV title.
Covington will play the 11 a.m. game, facing Cedarville.
