Brackets set
for OHSAA tournament

County teams will be heading into action in their respective sports.
Chastity Fusion will look to help lead the Lady Trojan track team while
Arcanum junior Allison Dill will lead the Trojans softball team. Senior
Ashley Hanes will be ready to pitch the fifth ranked Lady Wave to the
next level. The Wave track team heading into action as well while
Greenville’s Chase Strawser and the Wave netters will head to Troy for
first round action.
Spring Sports Playoffs...
The 2012 OHSAA sectional brackets have been posted for all spring
sports.
The baseball brackets shows Mississinawa Valley playing Xenia Christian
at Athetes in Action while Ansonia will travel to Newton for a battle
with the Indians. Bradford also finds itself on the road, playing at
Cedarville. All games have 5 p.m. starting times.
Greenville, Arcanum and Tri-Village and Franklin Monroe all took first
round byes. Greenville will host its first round game with the winner
of the Ben Logan/Urbana game on May 10 starting at 5 p.m.
The top seeded Arcanum Trojans will host the winner of the
Ansonia-Newton game while the third seeded Patriots will get the winner
of the Bradford-Cedarville contest. Franklin Monroe will hit the road
for its first round game with the winner of the Troy
Christian-Tri-County North game. These games will be played on May 9.
The top seed in D-III will see Versailles hosting National Trail on
Monday May 7 at 5 p.m.
Softball pairings
On Monday, May 7, the Versailles Lady Tigers will go to Northeastern
for their first round game. On that day, Arcanum will play host to
Brookville, both games are set for 5 p.m. starts.
On Tuesday, May 8, The Lady Jets will soar into West Alexandria for a
game with Twin Valley South.
May 10 will pit Mississinawa Valley playing the winner of the game
between Triad and Fairlawn. Triad is the top seed and if the Cardinals
win, the Hawks will go to Triad. If Fairlawn were to pull off the
upset, MV would host the Jets.
Also on May 10, Greenville, seeded second, will host the winner of the
Greenon-Tecumseh game while Ansonia will play at Houston and
Tri-Village will host Middletown Christian with Bradford playing host
to Troy Christian.
The Wave tennis team will be in action at Troy in their sectional
matches while all the track teams will be going.

Lady Wave remains
state ranked
GREENVILLE – The Greenville Lady Wave softball team continues to climb
in the state rankings.
In the latest poll, the Wave jumped to fifth in the state in Division
II, scoring 47 points. The poll is the third of the season. Originally,
Greenville was ninth, then sixth and now fifth.
Leading the pack is LeGrange Keystone with 101 points, recieving seven
first-place votes. Poland Seminary was second with 91 points and three
first-place votes, River Valley was third with 60 points and one
first-place vote and Woodridge recieved 54 points to round out the four
teams ahead of Greenville in Division II.
Sectional play for the Wave is set to start May 10 at Stebbins Field.
