Lady V-Tigers bow out
TIPP CITY — It may have been one of the best offensive showings of the
year for the Versailles Tigers.
Versailles broke out the sticks Friday against the Fenwick Falcons,
clipping the wings of the birds, 14-1.
It’s a tradition of winning and in Versailles, losing is never a option.
“There’s a lot of tradition of success at Versailles, and we’re really
happy to try and keep building on that,” Versailles baseball coach
Mitch Hoying said.
The Falcons scored the first run of the game in the second.
After that, The Tigers would not be denied.
Zack Niekamp got things tied in the top of the third with a RBI double.
Versailles broke it open in the fourth with three runs.
Then the roof caved in on the Falcons as the Tigers plated 10 in the
top of the fifth, ending the game after retiring the Falcons in the
bottom of the frame.
Versailles now will play in the regional semifinal at 2 p.m. Thursday
at the Athletes in Action complex in Xenia. The Tigers will hook up
with Hamilton Badin.
