Wave netters finish first in Silver Flight
TROY – The Wave tennis team finished at the top of the Silver Flight at
Troy Saturday.
With 45 points, Greenville finished two points ahead of Fairmont in
second and ning points ahead of Trotwood-Madison in third.
Landon Kiser and Sam Bowers won their first doubles event, beating
their opponets from Xenia 8-0. They went on to beat Sidney by the same
score and topped the team from Trotwood 8-5.
Chase Strawser and Evan Kiser won the Silver Flight second doubles for
Greenville, beating Springfield’s Nelson and Dillon 8-0, Fairborn’s
Kristian Shultz and Teddy Morton 8-2 and Trotwood’s Thomas Chrison and
Hank Grinner 8-4.
Greenville’s Derek Lockhart finished fourth in the first singles in the
Silver Flight. He beat Xenia’s Hunter 8-3, lost to Fairmont’s Ian
Steiner 8-3 and lost to Sidney’s Dan Temple 9-7.
Alex Wolter of Greenville placed third in the Silver Flight second
singles. He beat Sidney’s Frank EnYart 8-2before losing to Fairmont’s
Adam Wolfe 8-3 and beating Fairborn’s Ethan Davis 8-3.
Yannic Koelling from Greenville finished third in the Silver Flight
third singles. He beat Springfield’s Kerazes 8-1, lost to Fairmont’s
Nate Bare 8-2 and beat Fairborn’s Ben Browder 8-2.
The Greenville boys tennis team will compete in the Division I
sectional tournament Wednesday at Troy High School.
