A Force on the Hardwood
Galloway to play for
Detroit Mercy
GREENVILLE – The Greenville Lady Wave are gearing up for the 2012-13
basketball season.
Senior Megan Galloway has set her career for the next four years. The
Wave senior recently signed a letter of intent to play at Detroit Mercy
in Michigan.
Galloway said this is a great step up for here.
The coach there (Autumn Rademacher) is awesome,” Galloway stated. “I
think this is a good fit for me.”
Galloway is going to Detroit Mercy because of its reputation in the
program she needs.
“They have a great science program there and that’s what attracted me,”
Galloway said.
Despite only playing 11 games as a junior, due to a season ending
injury, Galloway was a force on the hardwood.
As a junior, the Lady Wave standout averaged 9.58 boards a game and had
a 53.4 field goal percentage. Her 14.8 points per game was second in
the GWOC North and had 1.7 blocks per game.
“This is a great accomplishment for Megan,” said first year coach Eric
Vanover. “With her and Erin Albright playing down low for us, she is
going to make a difference for the team’s success. She has a great work
ethic and I can see why she is signing with a D-I school.”
Detroit Mercy plays in the Horizon League and will play Wright State.
Galloway is the daughter of Michael and Stacey Galloway.
