Broxton, Reds Reportedly Agree on Multi-Year Deal
Looking to maintain their dominance in the National League, the
Cincinnati Reds made a move that will help them do just that.
According to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman, the Reds have reached a multi-year
deal with reliever Jonathan Broxton. Broxton deal with the Reds is
three years, $21M. Also the club has an option for 2016. Salaries of
$4M-$7M-$9M, with $1M buyout on $9M option.
The righty was a viable reliever in 2012, coming out of the pen for the
Reds and the Kansas City Royals, pitching to a 4-5 record with 27 saves
and a 2.48 ERA.
