Can Bengals get
back on track
Pittsburgh and Cincinnati are very similar midwestern cities. In 2012,
their respective NFL teams are anything but similar.
The Steelers (2-3) have struggled against weak teams, due in large part
to injuries to key players on defense. Safety Troy Polamalu has missed
three of his team's first five games this season. Linebackers James
Harrison and LaMarr Woodley have also been usual suspects on the injury
report in this young season. The remaining Steelers haven't been able
to pick up the slack, and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has had to
operate with a suspect committee of running backs behind him.
The Bengals (3-3) opened their season with vigor, starting 3-1. Since
then, they've lost to underachievers Miami and division rival
Cleveland. The Bengals' front seven might be the most underrated in the
league, with most of the team's press finding its way to the passing
combination of quarterback Andy Dalton and wide receiver A.J. Green.
