BRADFORD- A lot of pink could be seen at Friday night’s football game
and awareness of cancer and curing is the focus. The Railroader family
had a reality check this year with Coach Cruse, Coach Hale, Brandon
Wirrig, and other family members within the community. If we have
learned anything, it is that our community people are fighters. They
don’t sit on their hands and wish this would go away, but we put our
hearts together and fight the good fight. Back in the day, the “Old
Railroaders” were called roughnecks. I guess the apples don’t fall too
far from the tree.
The Seniors took the home field during the regular season for the last
time… maybe? Depending on the outcome of our last game and the playoff
situation there is a chance we may be home again!!
With the score ending at 49-14, the Roaders all but clinched a spot in
the post season.
Bradford got no help from Versailles as the Tigers lost 20-14 to
Minster.
The seniors left their mark on both defense and offense. This is a good
group of young men leaving their mark on our community and you could
see it with the number of Railroader fans in the stands who stayed to
the end of the night and came out on the field at the end of the game
to celebrate with the team.
In other games around the county:
The Ansonia Tigers fell to the undefeated Covington Buccs by a score of
70-0.
The Arcanum Trojans lost Friday's home conference game against Bethel
by a score of 41-20.
The Greenville Green Wave football team lost Friday's home conference
game against Troy by a score of 21-6.
