Bradford – James Canan and the Bradford Football Team were recognized
by the Ohio National Guard on Thursday in a presentation at Bradford
High School.
Canan, a senior running back for the Railroaders was recognized as the
J.J. Huddle Player of the Week for his week three performance against
National Trail. Canan led his team to a 61-41 victory over the Blazers
by rushing for 455 yards and 7 touchdowns.
The entire Bradford Football Team was presented with an American flag
flown on a combat mission over Afghanistan. The flag was presented by
Sergeant First Class Brian Clum, Ohio Army National Guard.
Flown on an aviation mission by Ohio’s 37th Infantry Brigade Combat
Team, the flag was presented to Bradford High School because of its
participation in Operation Buckeye Guard. OBG, which started in 2011
with the deployment the 37th IBCT to Afghanistan, is a grass roots
movement of Ohio high school football teams wearing patriotic helmet
decals to show their support for the men and women of the Ohio National
Guard.
Bradford High School and over 370 other high schools statewide are
participating in Operation Buckeye Guard in 2012.
Congratulations to James Canan and the entire Bradford Football Team on
your accomplishments so far in this special 2012 season.
