Big night of
football will feature key games
By George Starks
DARKE COUNTY - Tonight will mark week eight in the prep high school
football season.
It will also feature two key games for local schools.
The biggest surprise of the year has been Bradford.
In the season opener against Ansonia, the Roaders ran over the Tigers
and then did it again in the CCC game a few weeks later did it again at
Ansonia.
Last week, the Curtis Enis coached team rolled through Arcanum, blew
their train whistle and pulled out of the station.
Now 6-1 and ranked fifth in the latest D-VI, Region 24 computer poll,,
the biggest enemy of Bradford is Bradford alone.
The Miami East Vikings will look to put a stop to the Bradford party
but it's not likely as the Roaders have overpowered everyone except the
7-0 Covington Buccs.
Covington whipped Twin Valley South last week. 55-15 and will look to
do the same tonight at home with National Trail.
Versailles, in the other big game of interest, will make the trek to
Delphos St. John.
The Tigers rolled over Marion Local last week and will look to
duplicate that feat on the Blue Jays turf.
Versailles coach Adam Miller will be going home to face his alma mater.
The Jays put the hammer on Ft. Recovery a week agog but it doesn't see
likely they will do this to the Tigers.
Look for junior QB Nick Campbell and Versailles to remain in the top
eight in the D-V, Region 20 computer rankings. Currently, the Tigers
are seventh.
Greenville will take its 1-6 record to Piqua while Arcanum will try to
inprove against the 0-7 Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks.
Ansonia will play at Bethel and will attempt to go to 2-6 on the season
with a win over the Bees.

The
Versailles Tigers, 5-2, will travel to Delphos St. John and a date in
the
MAC with the Blue Jays.
|
Arcanum
will head to MV tonight to battle the winless Blackhawks.
|
Ansonia
– The 1-6 Ansonia Tigers will look to go to 2-5 with a win at Bethel.
|
Bradford
- The 6-1 Railroaders will tangle with the 4-3 Miami East Vikings.
