V-Tigers roll over Parkway, 47-zip
By Dean Eversole

It was all Versailles Friday night at Parkway as the Tigers rolled to an easy 47-0, but that is only a part of the story.

The real story is the Tigers' defense. In the beginning (of the season), it was ugly. Receivers were running open, touchdowns were being scored and many Versailles' fans were scratching their heads. But since the second half of the Anna game, the Tigers have surrendered 21 points in their last ten quarters. Six of those points came a fluke play.

Friday night Parkway ran 16 first half plays, 8 of those plays resulted in negative yards. It wasn't until late in the game that Parkway managed any resemblance of an offensive.  It is this type of play that Coach Adam Miller envisioned when took over the reigns at Versailles.

"The last few weeks we have been getting very close and tonight we took care of the issues. The end result was a shutout tonight."

After starting the season 1-2 Versailles was being written off, but now at 4-2 the Tigers are in position to earn another playoff spot. However, it won't be easy. They will likely need to win out and that means beating Delphos St. Johns, Minster and St. Henry. Last year the Tigers faced a similar situation, only time will tell if they can duplicate the feat.
