BRADFORD- Have you heard about the cardiac kids? Well they are alive
and well in Bradford. If you didn’t go to the game Friday night, you
missed out on one of the most exciting games that has been played in a
very long time, in a 35-34 thriller.
The first quarter started out just as all the Railroader coaches and
fans wanted to see 14 to 0 Railroaders. The second quarter didn’t go as
well ending up 14 to 20 with TCN taking the lead. This is what makes a
team and this is exactly what happens in life. If you get knocked down
you get back up. In sports if a teammate gets injured or is not having
their best performance the rest of the Team finds a way to make it
happen. That is what The Bradford Railroaders did in the second half.
The team came out and made it happen. It was a total team effort on
both sides of the ball. At the end of the night the Railroaders put
together a 35 to 34 win.
James Canan highlighted the first quarter with 120 yards and 2
touchdowns only to leave the game injured, giving the Railroaders a
14-0 lead.
Canan sat out the 2nd quarter and was checked out at halftime by the
trainers.
Early in the second quarter Bradford fumbled and TCN turned the game
around making the game 14-7. Late in the second Bradford turned the
ball over on downs and TCN scored to even the score 14-14. TCN scored
again and took a 20-14 lead into halftime.
Bradford regrouped after halftime with Cline finding his stride and
went 46 yards to make the score 20-20. Wysong’s extra point was good to
give the lead back to Bradford 21-20. The defense stiffened and held
TCN. Bradford drove the ball with a Wysong touchdown with the 3rd
quarter ending 28-20 Bradford.
TCN scored first in the 4th quarter and a 2 point conversion brought
the score to 28-28. Bradford answered with a Rank kickoff return
touchdown with 1:43 left in the game. TCN returned the following
kickoff for a touchdown making the score 35-34. With a missed extra
point the score was left 35-34 Bradford. Tri County North’s failed
attempt at an onside kick ended the game with Bradford winning 35-34.
The Railroaders Travel to Arcanum next Friday.
