CNO Friday Football Preview
Week six;
questions to be answered
By George Starks
DARKE COUNTY- With five weeks of prep football in the books, there are
many questions that are left to be answered and some will be answered
tonight.
The big game features the Tri-County North Panthers at Bradford.
The Panthers come in with a 3-2 mark, 3-1 in the CCC, in a four-way tie
with Bradford, National Trail and Twin Valley South.
While North is coming off a 48-14 loss to Covington, the 4-1
Railroaders, 3-1 CCC, is fresh off a win at Ansonia by the same score.
Tonight game will show the computer, the Railroaders and area coaches a
couple of things.
First, it will let everyone know if Bradford is a contender or a
pretender.
A win over the Panthers should propel the Roaders over the number four
spot in the computer polls with the aid of secondary points.
Couple that with a possible win by Ansonia over Arcanum and a National
Trail win over the winless Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks and
loss by the Jefferson Broncos and the Roaders could leap into the top
four in the computer rankings.
A loss by Bradford and the Roaders could very well fall from the grace
of the computer.
The 3-2 Versailles Tigers will travel to Rockford tonight for a date
with the Parkway Panthers in a MAC showdown.
Versailles is coming off a 24-14 victory over Marion Local last week
while the Panthers are looking for their first win of the season.
This game is a must win for Versailles if the Tigers want to stay in
the playoff picture.
In other games, the Greenville Green Wave will host the Butler
Aviators. Tonight is homecoming for Greenville (1-4) while Butler comes
in with a 2-3 seasonal record.
Ansonia will travel to Arcanum tonight. The Trojans will be looking to
get off the interstate (1-4) while the 0-5 Tigers will be looking to
get on that same interstate.
|
The
Versailles Tigers will need a win tonight to stay in the post season
picture.
|
Can
Greenville pick up its second win of the season tonight against Butler
and win its homecoming game?
|
The
Ansonia Tigers will look to get their first win of the season tonight
at Arcanum.
