Lady Wave continue to roll

GREENVILLE — The Greenville girls tennis team beat Milton-Union 4-1 Monday in Greenville, snapping a three-match losing streak against the Bulldogs.

At first singles, Greenville’s Sophia Navas-Davis beat Brooke Falb 6-4, 6-4. The Lady Wave’s Michelle Borgerding stayed undefeated at second singles with a 7-5, 6-0 win against Jessica Ferguson. In third singles, Greenville’s Raquel Navas-Davis beat Sarah Black 6-1, 6-2.

In second doubles, the Greenville duo of Madison Bixler and Abby Monnin suffered its first loss of the year with a 6-1, 6-2 loss to Claire Fetters and Lizzie Fetters. The Lady Wave’s Erin Scott and Mallory Rich won in second doubles 6-4, 6-4 against Maggie Goodwin and Ashley Wombold.

Greenville improved to 5-1 with Monday’s win and has won four straight matches. Milton-Union fell to 4-2.
In junior varsity action, the Lady Wave’s Holly Cameron and Rachel Britsch both won in singles play. The teams of Natalie Blinn and Alexis Wentworth plus Molly Hunt and Hannah Gulley both won in doubles action.

Greenville returns to action at 4 p.m. today as it plays host to Fairmont.
