GREENVILLE- The second annual Gene Riegle Memorial will be contested Friday night at the Great Darke County Fair in the final racing session of the fair.

A year ago, in the inaugural race, Mark Winters Jr. took Lucky Me to the winners circle, in a much anticipated race that carried a 10,000 dollar purse.

Thursday night running will see a 20,000 dollar purse and will feature a full field of eight horses in the one mile pace.

Take It Back Terry headlines the quality field of pacers.

Take it Back Terry is coming into the race, fresh off a victory in The Meadows and has earned 227,867 dollars in hi career.

Driving the horse Friday will be Pennsylvania native, Dave Palone who has over 16,000 career races under his belt and has earned more than 113 million dollars in that time span.

The chief competition for Terry will be Lookinforanadventure, the son of RocknRoll Hanover and is trained by Jim Arledge Jr.

The pacing track record is 1:54.0, owned by Jimmy Whissman who drove Prince Sheldon to the victory and that time could be in jeopardy Friday.
