Versailles
Boys
Bowlers defeat New Bremen
The
final match of
the season was held at 20th Century Lanes in Lima on Saturday. The
Tigers were
going up against the New Bremen Cardinals. Unfortunately, Senior Nathan
Peters
was out with the flu all week and had to miss his last match. “With
Nate out,
everyone else would need to step up their games a little bit to make up
for his
absence.”
The
Tigers started
out with a 1st game win 939-810. The second game also went to
Versailles 966-783.
Going into the Baker games, things were well in hand for the Tigers to
win the
match. They had no issues and won all 5 Baker games, 226-188, 186-151,
173-155,
200-190 and 190-166. The final tally was Versailles 2,880 to New Bremen
2,443.
The Tigers ended up 12-3 finishing tied for 3rd place with St. Henry in
the
WOHSBC. Coldwater won the conference finishing at 14-1 with their only
defeat
coming at the hands of the Tigers last week.
2nd Place went to the Wapakoneta
Redskins, who only beat the Tigers by
39 pins earlier in the season. “These kids had a few tough matches and
bumps
early in the season, but they really came on strong the last half of
the
season. They are peaking at the right time and I am looking forward to
the post
season.”
Versailles
was led
by Senior Jordan Groff with a 243-202 and Junior Michael Davidson with
a
231-225. Versailles will travel to Marian Lanes in Huber Heights to
compete in
the Sectionals Tournament on Friday, February 15th. Complete league
standings
and statistics can be seen at www.WOHSBC.com.
