DC Heat take first place in soccer
competition

DARKE COUNTY — The DC Heat U14 Soccer team of the Darke County Soccer
Association (DCSA) had a successful spring soccer season, coming in
first place in the U14 Miami Valley Youth Soccer Association (MVYSA)
Division 1 League with a 6-0-2 record while exhibiting great
sportsmanship, teamwork and individual skills.
With the help of guest players from the (DCSA) DC Elite U13 team (coach
Mark Coppess and coach Danny Diceanu) and special guest goalkeeper
Matthew Poe (ESPN Highlight), the DC Heat swept all four games in the
Beaver Creek Classic Soccer Tournament U14 Blue Division including
holding on for a 3-2 win over an excellent Cusa Courage 98 Premier team
from Centerville in the championship game.
The DC Heat team is comprised of players heading onto future high
school careers with four high schools represented: Greenville Franklin
Monroe, Troy Christian and Yellow Springs.
The Darke County Soccer Association currently has five teams playing in
select traveling soccer (boys and girls) and welcomes all interested
soccer players. In addition, the Darke County Soccer Association
administers the local SAY soccer league in the fall.
