Lady Patriots win continuation game with Blazers
T-V erupts for five in the third

NEW MADISON- After trailing 1-0 on the original date of the game, Tri-Village and National Trail were forced to continue their Cross County Conference game Thursday, resuming the game in the bottom of the second inning.
After going down quietly in the bottom of the frame, the third proved to be magic for the Patriots.
With senior Shea Thomas leading off the inning with a bunt single, the Patriots would eventually send nine to the dish, scoring five times in a 7-1 Patriots victory.
“It’s hard to get kids back up in a continuation game,” said Patriots coach Mike Fisherback. “I thought we were flat the first night we met them and we came out flat tonight but I thought we responded really well in that third inning.”
After Thomas got on, one out later, Sam Miller reached on an infield single putting runners at second and first.
Junior Krystal Falknor followed with a single to center, scoring Thomas and getting a 1-1 tie.
After Sara Bowman popped out to first, Alex Bietry reached on an error, bringing sophomore Echo Brown to the plate.
Brown ripped a single to center, scoring two more before sophomore pitcher Rachel Frickert hit a shot to left that would eventually be misplayed, resulting in two more Patriot runs, giving Tri-Village a 5-1 edge with four innings left to play.
“We had four or five hits in that inning and that was a good response by the girls,” Fisherback stated. “We sent nine kids to the plate and we are trying some new things on this team. With tournament coming up, I’m not going to say what we’re trying to do but it’s looking good right now.”
During the seven inning game, the Patriots defense committed only one error.
That miscue came in the seventh but was not a factor in the final outcome.
“We are up and down right now,” Fisherback admitted. “We had no errors last night at Miami East but had three the night before against Bethel and let them
