Veteran
driver Jack Dailey drives Save Your Best to the winners circle
Friday in the third race of the night at the Great Darke County Fair.
Dailey won eight races in the opening two nights and is clearly the

Dailey raises
harness racing bar

Greenville- Jack Dailey is name that is significant in harness racing.
Friday night, Dailey started out on the right foot winning the first
three races at the Great Darke County Fair with the third of those
races with Save Your Best, a horse owned Steve Livingston and Cindy
Austin. Dailey drove the horse to the winners circle in a time of
1:58.1.
Those three wins got the ball rolling as Dailey won seven of the 39
races in the three sessions, including Saturday.
Four of the seven wins came on Friday as Dailey won in the ninth with
Autumn Estelle in 2:05.2.
Saturday, in the afternoon session, Dailey got win number five with My
Boy Dooley in the third and in the sixth with Calvinedna.
In the evening session, Dailey picked up two more wins with the first
coming in the second with Rosebud Tough Guy.
Jeff Nisonger also made his presence known on Friday, picking up wins
in the seventh with Diamond Point, a horse he trains. Nisonger also
took the Kayne Kauffman trained To Late To Apologize to victory in the
eighth, Led Schleppein in the 11th and Theory’s Hero in the finale of
the 13 race night.
Despite being quite visible in the winners circle, Dailey and Nisonger
couldn’t overtake the presence of the young Christopher Hope.
Hope competed in only three races, all Saturday evening but two were
victories with the biggest coming in the Tom Hope Sr. Memorial, a race
held in honor of Chris Hopes grandfather.
Hope won the inaugural race a year ago and now owns both wins in the
memorial race.
Hope took his first win behind Lookout Macatoo in the seventh. Hope
brought the six yearl old home in a time of 2:02.4 in the mile pace.
That win was only a tune-up for Hope.
In the 11th, the Hope Sr. Memorial, the young Hope made his grandfather
proud driving Premier Flash to the biggest win of the night in a time
of 1:59.4.
Hope followed that up with a third place finish in the 12th, driving
Her Ideal Hanover in the mile pace as Kyle Trafzer drove Nuthin EZ to
the win in 1:59.1.
Dailey will continue his quest for top honors on the track starting
Thursday at 1 p.m.
