Dailey collects 10th win of the week
By George Starks
GREENVILLE- With heavy rains drenching the track at the Darke County
Fair Thursday, the afternoon session was postponed until 4 pm with the
night session going at the regular time of 7pm.
With severe weather threatening the evening racing action, the race
directors were able to get things completed before the water came from
the heavens.
There were several highlights during the day with the biggest coming in
the second session as fourth generation driver; Chris Hope, pulled off
yet another big win in memory of his grandfather, Tom Hope Sr.
On Saturday, Hope won the second annual Tom Hope Sr. Memorial for the
second time.
Thursday, in the Darke County Gentlemans Driving Club Tom Hope Sr.
Memorial, Chris did it again with the same horse, Premier Flash.
Hope also did it in 1:59, duplicating the mark he set on Saturday as it
was only the second time he ever drove the Byers owned horse.
After collecting seven wins over the opening weekend, Daily added four
more to the list Thursday.
Dailey started with the third race of the afternoon driving Turtle Gone
Wild to a pacing time of 2:01.2. He then took the fifth with Hoosier
Shooter (1:58) and closed out his afternoon in the seventh, winning
with My Boy Dooly, trotting the mile in 2:06.
Dailey picked up his final win later that evening in the third with
Calvinedna, trotting the two year old home in 2:03.1 to win the
Parshall Futurity.
Nisonger picked up two more wins, giving him six for the week.
Nisonger got his day started in the second race of the afternoon
session with Silent Pine. Nisonger brought the trotter in with a time
of 2:06.
Nisonger got win number two in the final race of the evening session.
In the tenth, Nisonger, behind Arther and Kathryn, recorded a time of
2:00.1 in the pace.
There were two other worthy accomplishments Thursday.
In the afternoon session, Caleb Uhrig picked up his first ever wins as
a trainer with wins in the third and the fifth.
In the evening session, 16 year old Hunter Myers got his first win as a
driver, taking Boo Hoo to the winners circle in a time of 2:00.1 for
the pace.
