Versailles Girls
Bowlers Defeat Parkway
The annual Versailles
High School Bowling program fundraiser is slated for January 26th at
the Eagles in Versailles. This is hosted by the Ladies Auxiliary from
8:30 am to 12:30 pm. Come on out and let the Tiger Bowlers serve you
breakfast.
The Lady Tiger Bowlers
traveled to Coldwater to take on the Parkway Panthers on Saturday,
January 11. Versailles started out the match with a nice lead by
rolling 839 to Parkway’s 656. The second game they remained pretty
consistent and improved their score to 856 to Parkway’s 719. This
gave the girls a nice 320 pin lead going into the 5 Baker Games. “The
girls will down about 75 pins on their team average for the two games
(total), however, Pla-Mor Lanes is always a bit tougher,” said
Coach Phlipot.
The Baker games the
girls put it together and were very consistent with their scores.
They won all 5 baker games: 181-171, 175-156, 188-128, 201-119 and
181-120. “I was very pleased with how the girls bowled in the
Bakers today. They were very consistent and they bowled 11 pins over
their Baker average for the season,” stated Phlipot. The leading
scorers for the Tigers was Megan Ward with a 225 and Tori Minnich
with a 180.
