Director of Athletics and Student Life.
Cole Named
Edison Director of Athletics and Student Life
After an extensive search, Edison Community College has hired Nathan
(Nate) Cole as the new Director of Athletics and Student Life. Cole
will play a pivotal role in working with student athletes and coaches
while also helping to create an enjoyable culture for the students of
Edison.
A seasoned coach and higher education professional, Cole brings more
than 19 years of experience to the table. Throughout his career, he has
held a variety of apt job titles including head coach and director of
admissions. He is well versed in recruiting and retention and looks
forward to sharing his expertise in these areas.
“My goal is to turn Edison athletics into one of the premiere community
college programs in the State of Ohio,” said Nate Cole. “We will have
athletic programs and student athletes who exemplify sportsmanship,
fair play, class, and outstanding athletic and academic performance.”
Cole has spent the past six years of his career as a director of
admissions with his most recent experience having been at Miami Jacobs
Career College in Dayton where he was responsible for all recruiting
and admissions functions.
Prior to that, he was the head football coach for Tiffin University
(TU). Throughout his 13-season stretch as a division II head coach, he
was recognized as Coach of the Year numerous times and led his team to
a Great Lakes Football Conference Championship. Cole was also named
both the youngest offensive coordinator and head coach in the nation.
Cole’s athletic leadership stems from his time spent on the field. As a
four-year football letterman, he played tight end on two of TU’s
playoff teams. After graduating from TU, he served as an assistant
coach before gaining the role of head coach.
“I’ve always wanted to ultimately become an athletic director because
it would give me the opportunity to help shape student athletes lives
through a combination of intercollegiate athletics and education,”
added Cole.
Graduating with a Masters of Business Administration from Tiffin
University, Cole brings a wealth of experience in athletics and higher
education to Edison.
Cole is married to his wife, Amy. Together they have a son, Cooper, and
a daughter, Taylor. Originally from Lima, Ohio, Cole and his family
currently reside in Lewisburg, Ohio.
