Ansonia Wall of
Fame to induct new members
Ansonia OH- On Friday, February 20, 2015 the Ansonia Athletic Wall of
Fame Committee will induct two new members, Melissa Grilliot (Richards)
- Class of 1996 and Jim Whittington - Class of 1958. The ceremony
will take place at halftime of the varsity game against Newton.
Jim Whittington is being inducted as an Honorary Member, getting
recognized for his post high school athletic accomplishments, while
mentioning his Ansonia High School accolades.
Melissa Grilliot (Richards), class of 1996 will be recognized for her
athletic accomplishments in basketball, softball and volleyball.
A partial listing of her honors include: basketball years 9, 10, 11,
12; softball years 9, 10, 11, 12; volleyball years 9, 10, 11, 12.
Jim (residing in Arkansas) and Melissa (residing in northeastern Ohio)
were originally scheduled to be inducted on Saturday, February 14, 2015
during halftime of the boy’s home basketball game against Versailles
but the game was cancelled due to inclement weather.
Jim’s sister Marcia will accept on his behalf. Melissa’s parents
Dick & Shirley will accept on her behalf.
