The Weekend at
Eldora Speedway
Saturday Night
Bell Scores USAC Midget and Silver Crown Wins; Meseraull Comes Up
Victorious in Sprint Cars… Big Crowd Watches Four Crown Nationals; Bell
Also Won NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race in July at Eldora
ROSSBURG, Ohio (September 26, 2015) – Christopher Bell may be only 20
years old, but he looked like a long time veteran in winning the USAC
Midget and Silver Crown races as part of the Four Crown Nationals at
Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio.
Bell dominated the Silver Crown race after starting on the pole and led
every lap and he led most of the laps after starting fourth in the USAC
Midget race earlier in the night.
“This feels good,” Bell said. “This Silver Crown deal has been so tough
on me. I’ve been fast a couple times, but just couldn’t get the job
done. It’s cool to be able to come out here and win. This is my third
year in the Midgets and I’ve been good all three years, but finished
second both times. It’s nice to be able to win two races.”
Kody Swanson was second in the USAC Silver Crown division while Chris
Windom was third. Shane Cottle, who started ninth, was fourth while
Brady Bacon was fifth.
In the Midget race, Rico Abreu was second followed by veteran Tracy
Hines. Tanner Thorson and Kevin Thomas Jr rounded out the top-five.
The USAC Sprint Car race was quite entertaining as Swanson took the
early lead, but on lap four Chase Stockon, who started sixth, passed
him for the lead. He held the lead until lap nine when Bryan Clauson
shot past him on the outside on the mainstretch to take the point.
It appeared to be Clauson’s race to win, but on lap 15, he bushed the
wall in turn two and cut his tire as he entered turn four. He
went to the work area to replace it, but had to restart 22nd.
Stockon took the lead because of Clauson’s misfortune, but right after
the restart Meseraull, from San Jose, California, passed him on the
frontstretch and led the rest of the way to take the victory.
It was Meseraull’s first National Sprint Car win.
“This is my first National Sprint Car win,” Meseraull said. “You can
take that to the bank. Just super excited to be in front of these
awesome fans her at the house that Earl (Baltes) built. Eldora is the
race to win and I can’t believe I won it.”
The race was red flagged midway through when Kevin Thomas Jr., flipped
wildly in turn one. He was checked and released from the care center.
Swanson, from Kingsburg, California, finished second, while Dave
Darland, from Lincoln, Indiana was third. Clauson rallied to finish an
impressive fourth, while Scotty Weir was fifth.
The penultimate race on Eldora Speedway’s calendar is next week at the
UMP Fall Nationals for the Modifieds come to Eldora for a three day
show starting on October 1. Tickets can be purchased at
www.EldoraSpeedway.com or by calling (937) 338-3815.

Ohio’s Wilson Comes From Ninth To Score First Career World of Outlaws
Victory At Eldora… Abreu, Stewart Challenge Wilson in Fierce Battle
Throughout 30-Lap Portion of #4Crown Nationals
ROSSBURG, Ohio (September 25, 2015) – Greg Wilson, who lives just 80
miles northwest from Eldora Speedway, held off Rico Abreu and Shane
Stewart to win his first career World of Outlaws race at Eldora
Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio.
Wilson, who won an All Star Circuit of Champions race at Eldora in
June, started ninth, but quickly worked his way up to the front and led
the last half of the race.
“I want to thank everybody,” said Wilson who hails from Benton Ridge,
Ohio. “This has been a long time coming. I’m a blessed dude and to win
at Eldora – I was in tears. If you’re going to win somewhere, this is
the place to do it in front of the best fans in the world.”
Pole sitter Chad Kemenah, from Alveda, Ohio took the early lead but was
passed by Abreu just past the 10-lap mark. Abreu and Stewart then
battled for the lead just past the 15-lap mark, but all of a sudden,
Wilson shot by on the low side and got by both of them.
Wilson then rode the bottom all the way to the finish to score his
historic victory.
“This is the World of Outlaws,” Wilson said. “I just turned 40 years
old. You’re not going to wipe this smile off my face.”
Stewart was second, Abreu was third, while Donny Schatz and Dale Blaney
rounded out the top-five. Blaney came from 21st to fifth.
Several drivers, including Abreu and Stewart made their way to victory
lane to congratulate the first time winner.
In the UMP Modified race, Travis Stemler also came from ninth to first
to claim his first win at Eldora Speedway.
Stemler, from Ionia, Michigan, is now set for next weekend’s three day
UMP Fall Nationals also held at Eldora.
“For about three weeks I’ve just been on fire,” Stemler said. “I
appreciate everyone’s help. You always dream of being in victory lane
at Eldora. This is just a dream come true and I don’t think I’ll sleep
tonight.”
Zeke McKenzie, from Claypool, Indiana, finished second, while Jerry
Bowersock, Aaron Orr and Jonathan Taylor rounded out the top-five.
The #4Crown continues tomorrow with the United States Auto Club (USAC)
Silver Crown, Sprint Car and Midget Cars national tours joining
