OHSAA
Foundation to Host Student Leadership Conference
The Ohio State University Student Union will welcome 1,500 students
from OHSAA member schools
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The nation’s largest student leadership conference
returns to the Ohio Union at The Ohio State University on October 6
when a capacity crowd of 1,500 students from around Ohio will gather
for the annual Ohio High School Athletic Association Foundation Student
Leadership Conference.
The 2015 conference will focus on overcoming adversity, academic
success and character development. The conference is free to attend for
those students selected by OHSAA member schools and is geared toward
students in grades 9 through 11.
“Students selected for this conference are demonstrating their
commitment to being a positive role model and leader in their
communities,” Dr. Dan Ross, OHSAA Commissioner, said. “That is what
school sports are all about. Leadership is one of the many values that
can be established by participation in interscholastic athletics,
including sportsmanship, integrity, teamwork, discipline and academic
accountability. This conference is one part of that.”
