Bowling Update, Weeks 6 & 7
Lady Tiger Bowlers
Impressive over the Holidays
The Lady Tigers rolled into Coldwater, OH on December 26th to bowl
against the Russia Raiders and came home with a win scoring 2349 to
Russia’s 2034. The oil patterns at Coldwater typically are more
challenging and the ladies were better prepared at this match then they
were the first time they traveled there; this reflected in their
scores. Leading the way for the Tigers were Olivia Bruening (196,
174), Makenzie Berning (193), and Hannah Niekamp (178).
On January 2nd the Tigers then traveled to Woodcrest Lanes in Union
City to bowl against New Bremen. They again were able to return
with a win scoring 2370 to New Bremen’s 1614. The oil pattern held well
throughout the match allowing for the girls to stay consistent with
their shot. Leading the way in individual scores were Hannah Niekamp
(215, 180), Morgan Heitkamp (169), Olivia Bruening (163), and Maggie
Hedrick (158, 153). “I was pleased to see the girls bowl
well over the holiday break. Family and holiday celebrations are
very important and it can be challenging to practice and compete around
these events,” said Coach Phlipot.
The Lady Tigers travel to Community Lanes in Minster, OH on January 9th
to bowl against the Ansonia Tigers. If you want to follow and

Varsity Tiger
Bowlers with 4-3 record
On December 26th the Tigers traveled to Coldwater, OH to bowl against
the Ansonia Tigers. “Holding a match the day after Christmas
presents a challenge with schedule conflicts. Three less
experienced bowlers stepped up to compete for us in this match
including Quayd, Ayden, and Brandon,” said Coach Phlipot. “Ansonia only
presented with 4 bowlers.” The Tigers defeated Ansonia 2322 to
1546. Leading the way for the Tigers were Alex Groff (214, 185),
Jacob Wening (168), Quayd Pearson (141), Ayden Moran (138), and Brandon
Bradley (121). “The boys were able to keep focus under the
circumstances of bowling against an abbreviated Ansonia team.
They did a great job,” said Coach Phlipot.
The following week on January 2nd the boys traveled to Union City to
bowl against the Coldwater Cavaliers. They were not able to come out
ahead with a loss 2712 to 2596. “There were opportunities for us
to take the lead but we were just not hitting our spare shots,” said
Coach Phlipot. Leading the way for the Tigers were Alex Groff (210),
Kyle Cotner (202, 181), Jacob Wening (181), and Brody Hyre (212,
173). “The boys pulled together well as a team during Baker play
but the spare shots were not coming together as hoped. We will
continue to practice these shots and build confidence in this aspect of
our game” said Coach Phlipot.
On January 9th another tough competition will be held at Minster, OH
versus the St. Henry Redskins. To follow stats or schedules please
