Bowling, Week 10
Varsity Lady Bowlers
improve to 7-3
The Tigers bowled their final home match on January 23rd against
the Ft Loramie Redskins. They defeated the Redskins 2277 to 1694. The
high individual scores for the Tigers came from Hannah Niekamp (201,
184), Makenzie Berning (180), and Maggie Hedrick (165). “We had a
difficult time in baker play and ended up with some of our lowest
scores of the season. We will continue to work hard in practice
and it is essential that we improve in this aspect of the game heading
into the end of the season,” said Coach Phlipot. Senior Hannah
Niekamp bowled well at her last home match as a Lady Tiger.
The girls’ next match will be on January 30 at Pla-Mor Lanes in
Coldwater, OH against Ft. Recovery.
Varsity Men’s
Bowling Improve to 6-4
On January 23rd the Tigers bowled their last home match against New
Bremen. They defeated the Cardinals 2480 to 1887. The high games
were rolled by Alex Groff (205), Michael Hemmelgarn (181), Jacob Wening
(175), and Brandon Bradley (174). “Our lone senior Michael Hemmelgarn
had a good match,” said Coach Phlipot. The boys were missing two of
their bowlers to activity conflicts. “My goal is to keep the boys
working hard together in practice and focus on the end of the
season. It is important that we as a team have the same vision to
the end and I hope this will include a good representation in
tournaments,” said Coach Phlipot.
The Tigers travel to Pla-Mor Lanes in Coldwater, OH on January 30th to
bowl against the Minster Wildcats. The competition will be strong at
this match so the Tigers will need to be focused and ready.
