By Andrea Francis
Seven student-athletes from Edison State Community College have been
named members of the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC)
All-Academic team. To be named a member of the team, a student-athlete
must have completed 24 credit hours while earning at minimum 3.30
cumulative grade point average.
“It’s impressive to see our student-athletes perform well on the court
while also maintaining good grades in the classroom,” said Nate Cole,
Athletic Director at Edison State. “This achievement speaks volumes
about the type of student-athletes we have at Edison State and I
applaud their efforts.”
Five members of the Edison State women’s volleyball team earned honors,
including: Taylor Bachman of Piqua (3.67 GPA), Molly Dunlevy of
Bradford (3.87 GPA), Tasha Potts of Piqua (3.43 GPA), Taylor Stover of
Versailles (3.44 GPA), and Allison Watkins of Sidney (3.73 GPA).
Earning honors from the men’s basketball team is Damion Cook of New
Madison (3.38 GPA). Cadence Jacobs of Maria Stein (3.31 GPA) represents
the women’s basketball team.
Edison State Community College is one of nine participating members of
the OCCAC. The college also competes in Region XII as a Division II
member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) in
