Cody May of Troy, Ohio, has signed a letter of intent to play
basketball at Tabor College in Kansas following his successful career
at Edison State Community College.
"I am very excited to get the opportunity to continue playing the game
that I love," said May. "Tabor has a very successful basketball program
and I really liked what I saw during my visit."
"It also excites me that I will be teaming back up with my former high
school teammate Lance Carter. He and I grew up playing ball together
and there won't be anything like playing with him for one more year."
During his two–year career at Edison State, May earned all-league
honors. On the court, May averaged 14.9 points per game and 7.9
rebounds per game.
It was at Edison State where he was able to build a foundation that
helped lead him to where he is today. "Edison State Community College
was one of the best things to happen to me. Edison State plays in a
tough junior college league. I competed against a lot of talented
players while playing for Edison State and I feel it really prepared me
for the next level."
The 6-foot-3-inch forward hopes to continue his success while playing
at Tabor.
"My goals for next season consist of getting a conference championship
first, and then winning the national tournament," added May. "I have a
few personal goals like making honors at the end of the year, but I am
more focused on team goals. Basketball is a team sport and I like to
think of myself as a great team player."
Tabor College is a four-year private Christian liberal arts college
located in Hillsboro, Kansas. Tabor participates in 17 sports and is a
member of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC), which is
part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
