Edison State Sports
Dunlevy to Play
for Urbana University
May 04, 2016
Brooke Dunlevy, of Bradford, Ohio, has signed a letter of intent to
play basketball at Urbana University following her successful career at
Edison State Community College.
"Brooke was a great addition to our signing class and I consider her
signing as finding a "diamond in the rough," said Haley Ducey, head
women's basketball coach at Urbana University.
"Coming off back-to-back years averaging 21 points per game, being a
1,000 point scorer in just two years, and being ranked 9th in the
country in points per game shows that she has the ability to be a
matchup problem. Not only getting to the rim but she also shot 33% from
the 3-point line. Brooke just brings a different look to our offense
and we are excited to have her as a part of this program," added coach
Ducey.
It was at Edison State where she was able to build a foundation that
helped lead her to where she is today. "Playing at Edison helped me
prepare for the next level by introducing a more intense speed of the
game. It is faster than high school and I'm sure playing at Urbana will
be even faster."
"Playing at Edison State was the best decision I have made so far. I've
met a lot of great people and my coaches helped me get to where I am
today. I'll never forget my experience as a Charger and I'll for sure
miss playing as one."
"Getting the opportunity to play for Urbana University was never
expected," said Dunlevy. "I wasn't sure if I would play another two
years but now that I have signed, I'm more than excited. I can't wait
to meet new people, play against new people, and learn more about the
game of basketball."
The 5-foot-8-inch guard hopes to continue her success while playing at
Urbana. "My goals for next season are to get better at defense and
dribbling," said Dunlevy. "I look forward to more competition and
playing with/against a whole new group of people."
Dunlevy will continue her education in criminal justice at Urbana.
