for Ohio Christian University
May 03, 2016
Jalen Hearn (Westerville North HS) has signed a letter of intent to
play basketball at Ohio Christian University (OCU) in Circleville, OH
following his successful career at Edison State Community College.
"We are very excited to add Jalen to our program," said Tony Stockman,
Head Men's Basketball Coach at OCU. "He plays hard and with his team.
He is very competitive and a hard worker. We are adding a
high-character guy who can lead both on and off the court."
During his two–year career at Edison State, Hearn was a force on the
court earning 17.5 points per game. This spring, Hearn earned All-OCCAC
Honorable Mention honors.
Edison State helped Hearn build a foundation that he will use next
season at OCU. "Edison was a major a key in helping me prepare for the
next level," said Hearn. "It made me want to achieve success and strive
to be better than I was the day before."
"I'm really excited to have the opportunity to play at OCU next year,"
added Hearn. "They have a good team and coaching staff and I can't wait
to get started."
The 5-foot-11-inch guard hopes to continue his success while playing at
OCU. "My goals for next year are to win our conference and a national
championship. Talking with the coaches they believe that I can help get
the team to those positions and I am up for the task."
During his time at OCU, Hearn will continue his academic pursuit toward
a bachelor's degree in sports management.
