shine at county fair

GREENVILLE- Harness horse racing at the Great Darke County Fair kicked
off Friday with 14 big races and was followed up on Saturday with 13
races early and 12 more Saturday evening.
Greenvilles Jeff Nisonger set the bar with six big wins in the two days
of competition while another Darke County driver, Chris Hope,
recorded his first three win session, that coming on Saturday.
Mandy Jones, another Greenville driver got a huge win in the sixth race
Saturday afternoon. Driving Chocolate Time, Jones won going away in a
time of 2:02.3.
Nosimger got his first win of the two day session in the second on
Friday behind Crosswind Buttercup in a time of 1:59.2.
Nisonger would see the second win of the Friday session in the sixth
with Blue Bank K in a trot with a time of 2:06.3.
Nisonger would gain a win in the seventh and then ending the night in
the 12th with a victory driving Corner Con Artist to the winning 1:58.4.
Nisonger continued his winning ways in the opening session on Saturday
in the 8th as he drove Flying Penelope to the winners circle in 2:01.
Sarah Gator found the winners circle in 1:59.3 for win six for Nisonger
in the 13th.
Hope hit the trifecta in the Saturday afternoon session with his first
win coming in the fourth diving Northwestern Dreams in 1:56.2. He came
back with his second win of the day in the 13th with Dean-O-Time in two
minutes flat and hit the trifecta in the following race with Lookout
Beaches in 2:05.
Racing action will continue Thursday with a 5:30 post time.
Action will also start at 5:30 on Friday and will include the Arnie
Armahurst trot and a $22,000 purse with a $42,000 purse in the Gene
Riegle Memorial pace.
