Inaugural
Edison State Softball Car Show Is Saturday
The 1st Annual Edison State Car Show will be held on Saturday, July 14,
2018, from 12:00–3:00 p.m. at Edison State Community College on Looney
Road in Piqua. Proceeds from the event will help support the Edison
State women’s softball team. In the event of rain, the show will be
held on July 15, 2018.
Registration begins at 10:00 a.m. and the first fifty vehicles in
attendance will receive dash plaques. Cost is $10 per vehicle and
motorcycles are also welcome.
The event includes music, food, door prizes and a 50/50 drawing. Thirty
trophies will be handed out at 3:00 p.m., including the President’s
Choice Award, presented by Edison State president, Dr. Doreen Larson.
The Edison State women’s softball team had their first season this
year, in a very brisk and snowy spring, which held them at a
disadvantage. “A lot of the teams that we played went to Florida and
played before coming back here and starting the season,” stated head
softball Coach Dan Cain. “We didn’t do that, so it was tough.”
Proceeds from the Edison State Car Show will go toward a trip to
Georgia in February so that the ladies can play before the start of
their second season.
If you have any questions about the event or the women’s softball team,
please contact Coach Dan Cain at 937-570-2630.
