A Weekly Thing
Naiesha Thobe, Story Editor
Amy Whittington, Cartoonist
Teen Scribes
Naiesha and Amy are both seniors at Greenville High School. Naiesha has
written for our Teen Scribes section for months and introduced Amy to
partner with her on the first of many cartoons and cartoon strips to
run on a weekly basis.
“Our first comic… it’s an introductory bit,” Naiesha said. “We’ll make
some center around GHS and some not, but if something happens at
school, that will be our weekly.”
CNO Editor Bob Robinson said he liked it (“It made me grin and I don’t
grin all that easily.”) and looks forward to the weekly installments.
A Weekly Thing will be published each Friday.
“… kind of like an end of the week treat for CNO’ers,” Naiesha said.
In addition to A Weekly Thing and Teen Scribes, student involvement in
County News Online will soon be expanding significantly with the
addition of Digital Waves, a student tab produced exclusively by the
IMTV Program at Greenville High School, with GHS senior Jessica Transue
at its helm.
In it will be spotlights on student activities, daily news and events
and a variety of other information of interest to students, and
teachers, staff and community members involved with the growth and
development of our young people.
“I saw the test pages that were being prepared Thursday morning,”
Robinson said. “They look terrific.”
IMTV instructor Lori Hoover was also delighted at the progress Jessica
had made putting the site together.
“I
am so proud of Jessica and her work!” she said as they began to
approach the time when they could “go live” with their site. The long
range goal of the project is to involve students from all Darke County
School Districts in it.
