Many ‘Roll In’ For ‘Cruise In’

The
annual Rolling 50’s Cruise In was
held recently in Greenville from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Broadway was packed
with
hundreds of cars amongst hundreds of people who had all turned up for
only one
reason: revisiting the past.
Various
vehicles dating from not only
the 50’s but from the 40’s and so on lined Greenville’s downtown for a
majority
of the day on Saturday. Chevrolets, Willys, Pontiacs, amongst various
types of
both older and newer vehicles and motorcycles kept visitors busy with
their
restored looks or beautiful designs.
Entertainment
was also provided for
Broadway-goers enjoyment as they walked the street. Classics such as
Ring of
Fire or Hound Dog could be heard floating through the air. Dancing
contests,
hula-hooping, and Limbo contests were held for the “kids”, but a
variety of
people over the age of 13 actually ended up involved dancing the
Macarena and
Cha-Cha Slide.
This
event proved to be lots of fun for
people of all ages, but whether smiles were brought upon by the
entertainment
or memories of the past, it’s up to the public to decide.
