Outreach… the start
of something great
By Kalista King
Today I am going to bring up the topic of our local outreach team which
I wrote about a while back in my article, "Starting a Local Teens for
Christ Ministry Team in Darke County." It has taken a lot of time and
prayer to get this outreach team started and it is still not complete.
However, the drama team which currently exists has been sharing ideas
and discussing ways to get this team up and going.
If you read the article that I mentioned earlier, you already have an
idea of how we plan on taking this drama team a step further. With the
Set Me Free skit, we did not have to ask to perform it anywhere. We
were asked by many people to bring the skit to a variety of places and
we were more than happy to do that. We saw God move through this skit
many times last year, and thankfully, it hasn't stopped.
For this outreach team, we are planning to travel around to perform
more skits and testimonies, along with a short message to wrap up each
performance. Each person who wants to be on the team will have to fill
out an application and be able to share their testimonies in front of a
few Corner Shack adult leaders in a limited amount of time. Even the
teens on our current drama team will have to audition like the rest,
and after lots of prayer, our team will consist of those who prove
themselves to be authentic in their faith, serious about the team, and
committed to the team.
We are getting closer and closer to the start of this outreach team. I
cannot tell you when it will start or give you the big picture of what
it will look like, but I can assure you that we are putting the bits
and pieces that we have together to make this happen. As of now, all I
know is that this is the start of something great. I look forward to
giving you more details. We greatly appreciate those who have been
praying for us and supporting us from the start. Please continue to
pray for us as this outreach team comes together!
