Teen Revival
We’re just along for the ride
By Kalista King

As our Saturday Night Prayer family got together last week, we prayed about and discussed where we feel God is leading this ministry that we have on Saturday Nights. Since our discussion, I have caught myself thinking quite often about the many ministries God has brought about in the past year and what His plans are for these ministries in the near future.

A few weeks ago, I did a recap over the main ministries and events that God had called us to in the past year or so. When I say, "us," I am referring to the people who have been involved with these ministries. That includes: our Friend2Friend program at Greenville High School (soon to be Tri-Village as well), Saturday Night Prayer, The Corner Shack, and/or Youth for Christ. My youth leader, Marty McCabe, and I recently got together to share our dreams and visions of what we feel God is calling us to this year. God has given us bits and pieces to the grand puzzle that He has in store. I will do my best to explain what pieces we have put together so far, and hopefully in due time, I will be able to share what the finished puzzle looks like.

I suppose I will just start with our F2F program and go from there. F2F has grown to be a very large group teenagers who meet on Tuesday mornings before school to share, pray, and discover with their peers. We started out with a small group of deep-rooted believers who wanted to start a ministry in Greenville focused on growing with each other and reaching out to others in our school. Since then, F2F has grown immensely and we now have a variety of teenagers who are in many different places in their walks with Christ.

Believe me when I say that it is incredible to watch these teens gain a deeper understanding of who God is and further their relationships with Him each week. I love to see new people come each week and gain more insight on the Lord as we pray and dig into the scriptures, and F2F is probably the best place to do that! But I am also pleased to say that many of the teens (most who have been coming since F2F first started) want to dig even deeper by creating a "small group" outside of F2F for anyone who is ready to dive into the scriptures full-on and take as much time as needed to pray for our peers and our school.

Now the neat thing is that we sort of already have this small group taking place on Saturday Nights! Our Saturday Night Prayer family already consists of many F2F kids and the others who aren't, are from different schools who don't have F2F started yet. Like I mentioned in the beginning of this article, last Saturday we prayed about where God is leading this Saturday Night Prayer ministry, and He is already answering our prayers! Some changes may have to be made in order to make it work in the best way possible, but it sure seems like a whole new ministry is forming through our F2F/Saturday Night Prayer groups.

Marty and I both feel that whatever is forming here is going to be truly awesome. With everything that God has done in Darke County so far, there is no doubt in my mind that He will breathe this all into motion when the time is right. And as always, until that happens, we will keep praying. God has never failed to prove Himself faithful to our prayers so everyone gets ready, Jesus is coming to town. And let me remind you that this is all about Him, we don't take any credit for the revival taking place in Darke County. In the words of Marty McCabe, "we are all just along for the ride."
