Teen Revival
A Christian Fashion Show
By Kalista King & Leanna Meade

Today you are going to hear from a good friend of mine named, Leanna Meade. Leanna graduated from Greenville High School last year and was one of our "starting five" in the Friend2Friend ministry going on there. By this I mean that she was one of the 5 teens (whom I have mentioned in past articles) that met every other day before school to pray for revival at Greenville.

Leanna was able to see revival break out through F2F, and also got involved in our Saturday Night Prayer ministry in which she still attends regularly. I have gotten to know her very well over the past few years and I can honestly tell you that this girl is one incredible young woman of God. I have seen her grow a lot in her faith over the years and I am finally privileged enough to write an article with her for you! This week, I asked Leanna to write about an experience she had recently that I found very interesting. I think you will too.

Leanna: Like Kalista said, I have seen revival at F2F before I graduated high school, and it was such a great experience. This past Friday I was invited to go to something I had never experiences before. It was called WIP (wear it proud), the runway fashion show tour in Cincinnati with my friend Kelsi Mancillas. When I heard about it I was not sure what to expect.  I’ve never been to a fashion show, and I've never even heard of a Christian fashion show.

We got there early because Kelsi was in the show and we also helped out with last minute things that needed to be done. Stephanie Gordon was the host and she did an amazing job of putting this together. Stephanie came down and asked us if we could pray for her because there was a whole bunch of stress and a little frustration. After we were done praying I was thinking about how passionate she was for these fashion shows and I grew a deep admiration for her and this event.

The models started showing up and they were not at all what I expected. I was thinking at a fashion show they usually show a lot of skin, so I began wondering, what are they going to do here at a Christian fashion show? Well I learned that they provide the models with shirts, but they have to bring bottoms and shoes and any accessories they want. They had different types of shirts like active wear NOTW clothing (not of this world) and so on.

Well when the show started, it was like a regular fashion show, but it did not stay that way. They had Christian music, a live band, and people from New York there to train the models for the finale. The models sang, danced and rapped and it was so amazing for me to see them use their talents that God has given them.

Then the Pastor came out and shared about how this was not a show just to see clothing but to see what gifts God has given these models. It was all about loving God for what he has done and will be doing in us and for us. Next the pastor told everyone to close their eyes and asked if there was anyone who wanted to renew their relationship with God. Then we sang the song “how he loves us” and the pastor was having the people who renewed their relationship with God come up to the alter. Now this was truly incredible to witness. There were people who were young, people who were old and teens that went up.

This goes to show that it doesn't matter how old you are, you don’t have to be young or old to accept God into your life. He knows when you will come to him and ask for forgiveness, and he longs for you to, even if it is at a fashion show. I serve a Great and Mighty and Awesome God, and I am so thankful that we can have events like this to strengthen my faith while having fun in the process. Thank you for listening to my testimony of this experience. God bless!
