GREENVILLE, OH – The Fort GreeneVille Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution is proud to present a special free community event, in partnership with America 250 – Ohio and Wayne Theatre: a screening of the new documentary The American Constitution, followed by a live discussion with filmmaker David Garrigus. The American Constitution brings the Constitution’s origin story to life in the summer of 1787 through the Framer’s own words and commentary from leading authors, historians, and Constitutional scholars. The movie premiere explores the U.S. Constitution’s origin story. This screening of The American Constitution will educate and engage the audience with the historical context of the creation of the Constitution.
This event, presented in partnership with America 250 – Ohio, offers a rare opportunity to not only see the film but also to ask questions and engage directly with its creator David Garrigus following the viewing. It is a powerful catalyst for civic engagement and a must-see for anyone interested in American history. The event is free and open to the public at The Wayne Theatre, 540 S. Broadway St, Greenville, OH 45331.
David Garrigus, award-winning filmmaker behind the PBS critically-acclaimed Kitty Hawk: The Wright Brothers’ Journey of Invention is bringing his new feature film, The American Constitution, on a city-to-city roadshow tour before its broadcast release on PBS stations. Because of his unusually long commitment to grassroots community exhibitions of his film and his advocacy for civic education, it has been stated, “Garrigus has been characterized as the “Constitution’s Johnny Appleseed.”
