On September 6, 2025 at approximately 1149 P.M. Darke County Deputies along with Arcanum Rescue, Greenville Township Rescue, New Madison Fire, and CareFlight responded to the 3700 Block of McNutt Road in reference to a single vehicle accident with injury.
Preliminary investigation revealed a Blue 2013 Ford Taurus, driven by Lillie Shellabarger (19), of Arcanum, Ohio was traveling north west on McNutt Road. Ms. Shellabarger drove left of center and overcorrected her vehicle sliding into a bean field. Once off the roadway the vehicle rolled coming to a rest on its top. While the vehicle was rolling the passenger, Lily Shuttleworth (19), of Pitsburg, Ohio was ejected from the vehicle.
Ms. Shellabarger was transported to Wayne Hospital and Ms. Shuttleworth was taken to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight. All injuries are non-life threatening.
This accident remains under investigation.
