The Darke County Animal Shelter has 11 dogs with a reduced or waived adoption fee waiting for their fur-ever homes.
They are given Bordatella, parvo/lepto/distemper vaccines, is dewormed, is heartworm negative, and is microchipped.
The Shelter is located at 5066 County Home Rd. Greenville OH. 45331. The visiting hours are Monday- Friday 8am- 11:45am and 1pm- 4pm. You can reach the Shelter at 937-547-1645.

We believe Buck is a 2-year-old intact male Terrier mix. He’s a super sweet boy who just wants to be loved and showered with affection! Buck has shown us that he knows how to sit loves to play ball and will be your best friend with just a few treats. Buck also learning to walk on a leash and doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs here at the shelter. With his big heart and gentle nature, Buck is sure to make a wonderful companion. We have been told that Lexie is a 11-Month-old female Shepherd Mix with a gentle nature and a love for the outdoors. Lexie owners told us that she is good with kids, housebroken and crate trained. Lexie is not a fan of cats. Lexie owners described her a super sweet, playful pup who is a quick learner and loves to cuddle on the couch. Lexie has shown us that she knows how to sit and really enjoys a treat or two. She’s also working on leash training and is making good progress every day. She’s got a sweet demeanor and would thrive with someone who can give her a little patience and a lot of love. Lexie did great for her nail trim and exam where she weighs in at 52lbs.

While we don’t know much about his past, we’ve loved getting to know this sweet pup here at the shelter. Sammy is an affectionate boy who lives for your attention! He’s very food-motivated treats are his love language! He’s working on his leash-walking skills and doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs at the shelter. Sammy full of potential all he needs now is a loving home to help him learn and grow. Sammy did great for his exam where he weighed in at 42 lbs.
Meet Chase A Sweet Soul Looking for Love. We believe Chase is a 2-year-old male Terrier mix who came to us as a stray. While we don’t know much about his past, what we do know is that he’s one of the sweetest boys you’ll ever meet. Chase doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs at the shelter and is learning to walk on a leash. He’s calm, affectionate, and clearly just wants someone to love and to be loved in return. It doesn’t seem that life hasn’t always been kind to Chase, but he hasn’t let that dim his spirit. Despite everything, he remains hopeful for a warm, loving home where he can spend his life in comfort and peace. Chase is ready to start his next chapter with a family who will show him the kindness he’s always deserved. Chase weighs in at 63 lbs.

We believe Bambam is a 8-year-old neutered male Terrier Mix. He’s affectionate boy. So far, Bambam has shown us that: he knows how to sit, loves to play tug-a-war and enjoys treats. He is currently learning to walk on a leash and does not seem to mind other dogs here at the shelter. Welcome, Gloria! Gloria came to us as a stray, so while her history is a bit of a mystery, her personality speaks volumes. We believe she’s a 2-year-old female Shepherd mix. Gloria has shown us she is highly motivated by treats. She’s currently learning how to walk on a leash, and she’s picking it up beautifully. Gloria doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs at the Shelter. Gloria is ready to find a loving home where she can continue to learn, grow, and share her sweet affection. Gloria did great for her nail trim and exam where she weighed in at 34 lbs.

We believe Issac is a 2-year-old, intact male Husky mix with a bright personality and a lot of love to give. Issac has shown us he knows how to sit and absolutely loves treats which makes him eager to learn more! He’s a super friendly boy who soaks up attention and enjoys meeting new people. He’s also learning how to walk on a leash and is making good progress. Issac doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs here at the shelter .
