On October 28, 2025, the Greenville Police Department initiated an investigation into Bryan C. Gilbert, 62 years old, of Greenville possibly being in possession of a firearm. Mr. Gilbert is a registered sex offender following a conviction of Gross Sexual Imposition in 2019.
Mr. Gilbert has also be convicted of possession pf cocaine in 2016.
The Ohio Revised Code prohibits those who have been convicted of or under indictment for crimes of violence or various drug offenses from acquiring, having, carrying, or using a firearm or dangerous ordinance (Weapons Under Disability ORC 2923.13).
Mr. Gilbert also has a prior conviction of having weapons under disability in 2019.
On October 29, 2025, the Greenville Police Department executed a search warrant at Mr. Gilbert’s residence in the 300 Block of South Ohio Street. A firearm was recovered as a result of the search warrant and Mr. Gilbert was arrested for Weapons Under Disability, a felony of the third degree
