On November 4, 2025 at approximately 1:35 PM Darke County Deputies along with Greenville Rescue and Laura Fire responded to the 9200 block of State Route 571 East for a reported two-vehicle injury crash with one rolled over. Upon arrival it was discovered it was a single vehicle crash with injury.
Preliminary investigation revealed a 2022 Blue Chevy Trail blazer driven by Jesse Hootman 17, of Greenville, was traveling North West on State Route 571 East. Jesse advised that an unknown vehicle was traveling South East when this vehicle went left of center coming at him. Jesse advised he swerved to avoid the collision causing him to run of the right side of the road hitting a ditch and tree before his vehicle came to rest on its passenger side. Jesse was transported to Wayne Hospital for suspected injuries.
This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
